The Next Generation of Classical Talent

Founded in 2006, the Music Institute of Chicago Academy has quickly established itself as one of this country’s top centers for highly gifted pre-collegiate musicians. The selective program is focused on providing a comprehensive musical education, including private lessons and chamber music, as well as significant performance opportunities for developing musicians. The carefully assembled faculty includes internationally recognized teachers and performers with a passion for developing young talent and an established track record of student achievement.

Approximately 60 young musicians from around the world, ages 11 to 18, spend thirty Saturdays between mid September and mid May, at The Academy. The program takes place at the Ravinia Festival (http://www.ravinia.org/)in the John D. Harza Building, home of the Steans Institute for Young Artists. Academy students have the use of Steinway and Steinway designed Boston & Essex pianos generously provided by Steinway of Chicago. (http://steinwaychicago.com/)
