We are deeply passionate about providing all our students with music education that transforms their lives. At the Music Institute, interests are kindled, friendships formed, and confidence soars as each student is launched on a life-long enjoyment of music.

There are many ways to help us sustain our world-class music education. Your support helps ensure that we continue to inspire an increasing number of people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities, and financial circumstances to shape their lives through the joy of music education, performance, and arts therapy:

  • Yearly, 20% of our budget must come from Annual Fund contributions to make services such as the following possible.
  • 200 of the 2,500 students who study music with us receive financial aid
  • 40% of aid recipients live in Chicago, and 75% are minorities
  • Over 4,000 inner-city children are being stimulated by our Music Integration Project which shows teachers how to infuse music to meet standards for learning across their curriculum
  • The lives of 3,000 individuals are being uplifted through expressive arts therapy by our groundbreaking Institute of Therapy through the Arts (ITA)
  • Thousands look forward to 21 FREE concerts in Nichols Concert Hall
  • Our senior student ensembles bring the joy of music to dozens of senior centers
