Creative Arts Therapy: When Words Alone Are Not Enough

About ITA

When words alone are not enough, the arts can often help. Founded in 1975, the Institute for Therapy through the Arts (ITA) is one of the few comprehensive community-based arts therapy programs in the United States that offers all four arts modalities —Music, Drama, Art, and Dance/Movement therapies. ITA therapists work with individuals of all ages who have psychological, physical and developmental challenges, encouraging them to achieve the fullest potential through the arts.

ITA offers one-on-one sessions at our Evanston (Dempster Street) and Lincolnshire campuses, Highland Park office, and 141 sites throughout the Chicagoland area.

ITA featured in recent Evanston Roundtable

ITA Acting Art Department Director, Leslee Goldman, recently was interviewed by a reporter from the Evanston Roundtable.  The article appeared in the May 12, 2009 edition of this local paper.  It is a good overview of our work and will help Evanstonians learn about ITA and our many services.
